The Anchor Holds
The Anchor Holds
Words and music by Lawrence Chewning and Ray Boltz
I have journeyed
Through the long, dark night
Out on the open sea
By faith alone
Sight unknown
And yet His eyes were watching me
CHORUS:
The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm
Ive had visions
Ive had dreams
Ive even held them in my hand
But I never knew
They would slip right through
Like they were only grains of sand
CHORUS
I have been young
But I am older now
And there has been beauty
That these eyes have seen
But it was in the night
Through the storms of my life
Oh, thats where God proved
His love to me
I always love when Seth Buckley sings this song at my home church First Baptist Spartanburg. This song came to mind when I saw the anchor in Jackson's room. God has been so good to us, and our church has given us a wonderfully generous love offering. God just keeps on giving us so many blessings. It is overwhelming His love for us and His protection over us. Whenever you go through something hard, you are just so much more thankful for every little thing God gives you. I think that is the key to some people's joy in Christ, true thankfulness for all what He has done for us.

I am so, so, so thankful that y'all were not harmed, and that Jackson is safe and sound. Yall continue to be in our prayers!
Hey Emily...I'm an old friend of Charlie's and heard through some people about the fire. I'm so glad that everybody is safe and sound...what an amazing God we have! Those pictures of his room break my heart and it makes me sad for ya'll to have to go through this. This is an amazing blog you have here, and I'm sure many new mothers appreciate what you do. I know you can't replace the precious keepsakes that you probably lost in the fire, but if you need anything, I would love to help! I work at Gymboree and can get Jackson anything that he needs. Take care and know you are in my prayers! ~Amy Butler
