Craziness at the Wallace House: Fun Video

What happens when a little boy and a dog are stuck in the house for three days straight because of extreme wind? This:

Praise the Lord for a beautiful sunny day yesterday. Jackson has great days when he can go outside and play in the back yard.

Happy 3rd Birthday Millie Boo!

Today is Millie Boo's third birthday. She was the first living being that God entrusted us to be parents over and by God's grace and mercy she is still alive with us. I will not go into the whole almost dying incident here but I am very thankful for Millie Boo every day.

Here are the top 3 Reasons I am thankful for Millie Boo since she is three years old today.

1. She makes Jackson laugh uncontrollably some days which is priceless (and she puts up with him pulling her hair some days).

2. She loves us unconditionally

3. She always knows how to cheer us up by licking our feet (it is very relaxing) or by cuddling up next to me. And now since I am pregnant she loves to sit on my stomach...maybe she knows there is a little person in there now.

Jackson Playing with Millie Boo

Here is video of Jackson playing with Millie Boo in the back yard yesterday. It actually got warm enough for us to go outside. As you can see, Jackson is doing so much better. God gets all the glory for healing him quickly!

We had some Snow Last Night!

We were so excited to see snow last night! It did not last long, but it was beautiful! I am so blessed to have this new digital camera....it actually has a setting for taking pictures in the snow. That is why these pictures turned out so great (it actually took pictures of the snow coming down). If you look closely, you will see Millie Boo in some of the pictures. She ran around very fast, and did not know what to do with the snow. Jackson was asleep, so he did not get to see the snow....sad. Enjoy the pictures!

Christmas 2007...Lots of Pictures!

The first picture is of Jackson getting his very realistic vacuum cleaner. I should say under that picture, "One play vacuum cleaner, 19.99 at Toys R Us...Jackson's face....priceless." I think we could have just got him that for Christmas and he would have been content. Anyway, we also got a dvd player for the car from our parents that we got at Sams...Yeah! (it is 10 inches). And Charlie and I got him The Jesus Story Book Bible, by Sally Lloyd-Jones. It is such a great book I might be posting a story from the book. I found the best deal for this book at Westminster Bookstore at http://www.wtsbooks.com/ The other pictures are from us enjoying family time with my dad's extended family (this year is our year to go to be with my parents for Christmas). All my cousins have had babies so all the little ones are my cousins' children...they are so precious! On the 22nd we celebrated Christmas with Charlie's family and Jackson got lots of Veggie Tale tapes, toys, and great gift cards to the Sandhills mall. We really had a wonderful Christmas celebrating Jesus birth. We went to a beautiful candlelight service on Christmas Eve. God has blessed us so much this Christmas. I am so thankful that the Lord did not take my father up to heaven this month. We are so blessed to have him!

Happy 2nd Birthday Millie Boo!

Well, today, is our dog’s second Birthday. I thought I would write about it, because it is only by God’s grace that she is still alive. She ate rat poison that was left in the church parsonage and had to have a complete blood transfusion last June (2006). The doctor told me that she had a 50/50 shot of living. He definitely told me this when I was 6 months pregnant, and very emotional after the big move and the sudden death of my grandmother. This was a time in my life when I was depressed, and my relationship with Jesus was not even a relationship. I am glad Millie Boo almost died because I have never prayed that hard or that much. God does get all the glory for saving her life.

I am thankful for Millie Boo because:

  1. She sanctifies us daily, and has brought us closer to the Lord during her near death experience. She teaches us how to die to ourselves, and depend on God for strength.
  2. She makes Jackson smile daily, even laugh
  3. She relaxes me by licking my feet daily
  4. She teaches both me and Charlie patience. She is a high maintenance dog because she requires a lot of time and attention (all dogs really need a walk daily, so think about that before you get a cute little one)
  5. She always has a loud, friendly welcome!

Pictures from last weekend-Decemeber 15th

Wow! It was a big weekend. The first picture is from our Sunday School Christmas party that we had at our house. This is Brandon Osborne with our first baby Millie Boo. The second picture is of Jake Albright and Lauren Albright. Jake and Jackson are first cousins (this is Charlie's sister). This picture was taken at his 2nd Birthday party that was Saturday afternoon. Then, the rest of the pictures are from Jackson being dedicated at the church on Sunday. It is more a parent's dedication in that we covenant to raise Jackson in a Christian home, and tell him about our wonderful Lord and Savior. Sandi, Larry and Rylie Boo suprised us and got up at 5 am to see Jackson being dedicated. It really meant a lot to us! That night we were Mary, Joseph, and Jesus in the church musical. It was a very busy weekend and I think we wore poor Boo Boo out! I cannot believe it but he is already teething so that is an issue right now. He has 2 white bottom teeth visible. They say they can start teething at 3 months. We are going to get some teething tablets today (we might even try giving him some Tylenol). Hope yall had a great weekend as well!

Kelly's Pictures of Thanksgiving

Here is Kelly's pictures from Thanksgiving. The first one is of Jackson smiling at his Gran. The second picture is Boo Boo sticking out his tongue and the third is Jackson hugging the very important Kelly pillow. The last picture is of our dog Millie Boo who does not receive that much attention right now and Kelly thinks she is depressed. I think that Millie just did not get her 4 hour nap in this day.

Today, I specifically pray that Jackson will fear the Lord and serve Him: "You shall fear only the Lord your God; and you shall worship Him, and swear by His name" (Deuteronomy 6:13) Suggestions by Donna Otto in her book The Stay at Home Mom

I have just mastered memorizing "Great is Thy Faithfulness" which I sing to Jackson every day. It is amazing how little hymns I actually know by heart. Do I really want Jackson to remember me singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star?" I really think we dumb things down too much for our children today---they can understand a lot more than we think. The next song I am working on is "By Thou My Vision" to sing to him.

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Refrain

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Refrain

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Refrain
