Christmas Pictures: Part 1

Abigail got Jessie for Christmas but somehow Jackson is managing to sleep with her at night...He told me that Woody and Jessie needed their picture taken in the above picture.
The above picture is of cousin Zach. We are so blessed that they are only a couple month apart in age.

Jackson loved the Toy Story 3 toy solider's he got from Mimi . I think all the kids enjoyed playing with them.

Daddy and Abigail having a tea party with the "fake" food Mimi got her for Christmas.

Charlie's uncle (mother's brother). Don't yall think they look alike?

This year we celebrated Christmas in Columbia (we went to Spartanburg on Christmas day because of the snow), and went to Rock Hill Christmas Eve to see all of Charlie's family. Jackson was very excited to see Santa there at Geemaw's house! Jackson was also so excited to open his presents Christmas morning and kept on saying, "I love it, I love it! (about his big Buzz Lightyear).

Jackson's favorite gifts were: his Buzz Lightyear (we gave him), the Toy Story 3 movie (Pop Pop's and Mimi gave him), and his leapster explorer (Grand and Gigi got him). Santa got him Toy Story 3 zippty game. We are so blessed!

What was your Preschooler's favorite toy that they got for Christmas?

Free Junior Tag Leapster Book!

Common Sense with Money had a post about getting a free junior tag book from Leapster at the beginning of August. I love learning toys and really enjoy Leapster toys. It did take me a minute to fill out the information but I did get a free $10 book in the mail and a coupon for $5 off a junior tagger last week. The Kmart next to the Bush River Road Chick Fil A that we always go to on Tuesday nights is going out of business so they had the tagger 10 percent off so I got the junior tagger for like $20 (I think it is more like $30). Jackson loves it and it has so many different questions and songs in each book (the tagger comes with a book as well).

She writes, " just signed up to get a free Tag Junior Book from leapfrog by linking my son’s Tag Junior reader to his learning. To get your own all you have to do is go to this link and sign up for a learning path. If you have not registered with leapfrog then you will need to create an account. Then enter your child’s info and then link your Leapfrog product to your child. It doesn’t need to be a Tag Junior Reader (although you will need it to be able to use the free book) It could be a Leapster, Tag reader, Crammer or more. Then a couple more steps and you will be signed up for the free Tag Junior Board Book. Thanks Ana!"

Video of Jackson Playing with His New Blocks!

"I Stand Amazed in the Presence"

This song, "I Stand Amazed in the Presence" was done so well at the conference we attended.

Jackson turned 19 months old today and it just seems like yesterday we brought him home from the hospital. He had a fever all day yesterday, and the strep test was negative, so pray that God gives the doctors wisdom if he continues to have a fever. His fever finally broke this morning, but the doctor said he had puss pockets on his throat. We did not have to miss one Sunday in March, so I am so thankful to God that he has been able to stay well for entire 6 weeks. God gets all the glory!

I was still able to go the M.O.M Children Clothing and Equipment Sale with Charlie's sister, Lauren, last night since this sale is only twice a year. Moms who have twins who live in the Lexington area sell their items that they do not need anymore and this sale is held at a large Presbyterian church's gym. We had such a great time! I was able to get so much for Jackson there! I got another car seat, a booster seat, a training potty, building blocks like the ones he plays with at the church, a cute chair for him to sit in, a hat, a Wiggles car, and a phone! I have not bought Jackson any toys since before Christmas since he got so many toys at Christmas. You would not believe how much I spent....it was such a steal. I guess since I have been working so hard to save us money through our grocery and out to eat budget, I just have not been able to justify spending $20 or $30 on 1 toy that he is only going to use for a year or so.

Anyway, back to this amazing song! I see and understand how God loves us so much more now that I am a parent. I see Jackson's sin and I want to instruct him, but it does not change how much I love him. In fact, his shortcomings, him growing in his self-control (not wanting to harm anything when he gets frustrated) makes me love him even more. I see his heart changing, and I see his heart and love for other people, and I get so excited to think what all God is going to do through Jackson. After going to this conference, maybe God will use Jackson's dramatics to preach God's word dramatically and powerfully. God truly is our father and he loves us unconditionally like a father does.

I think you can get some really great versions of this song on itunes.

"I Stand Amazed in the Presence"

I stand amazed in the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene,
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner, condemned, unclean.

Refrain

O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!

For me it was in the garden
He prayed: “Not My will, but Thine.”
He had no tears for His own griefs,
But sweat drops of blood for mine.

Refrain

In pity angels beheld Him,
And came from the world of light
To comfort Him in the sorrows
He bore for my soul that night.

Refrain

He took my sins and my sorrows,
He made them His very own;
He bore the burden to Calvary,
And suffered and died alone.

Refrain

When with the ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see,
’Twill be my joy through the ages
To sing of His love for me.

Refrain

Christmas 2007...Lots of Pictures!

The first picture is of Jackson getting his very realistic vacuum cleaner. I should say under that picture, "One play vacuum cleaner, 19.99 at Toys R Us...Jackson's face....priceless." I think we could have just got him that for Christmas and he would have been content. Anyway, we also got a dvd player for the car from our parents that we got at Sams...Yeah! (it is 10 inches). And Charlie and I got him The Jesus Story Book Bible, by Sally Lloyd-Jones. It is such a great book I might be posting a story from the book. I found the best deal for this book at Westminster Bookstore at http://www.wtsbooks.com/ The other pictures are from us enjoying family time with my dad's extended family (this year is our year to go to be with my parents for Christmas). All my cousins have had babies so all the little ones are my cousins' children...they are so precious! On the 22nd we celebrated Christmas with Charlie's family and Jackson got lots of Veggie Tale tapes, toys, and great gift cards to the Sandhills mall. We really had a wonderful Christmas celebrating Jesus birth. We went to a beautiful candlelight service on Christmas Eve. God has blessed us so much this Christmas. I am so thankful that the Lord did not take my father up to heaven this month. We are so blessed to have him!
