Update on Abigail: Five Months Old

Abigail is still funny as ever. Her laugh is hilarious. I really wish I could catch it on video. She has such a fun sweet disposition, a lot like my grandmother. However, Abigail has been fussier recently. Mother's Day really wore her out and she went to sleep (actually a coma) early with only have about 25 ozs. That night she woke up every 2 hours and we would flip her back on her stomach and she would go right back to sleep. So then she got constipated and now it seems every other night she is waking us up every 2 hours. She wakes up on her back and I know she wants to be back on her stomach. Today she has eaten a ton of pears and drank a lot of formula. However, overall she is more fussy during the day. It is just hard to get adjusted to because most days and weeks she would never fuss, not even a little. I am pretty sure she is already struggle stomach issues, mainly constipation. Her bottom two teeth also look like they are about to come through. Do yall have any advice on how to alleviate her waking up upset on her back?

Doesn't she look beautiful in her church outfit? She finally has enough hair where the bow will really stay in. Yay!

Added later: Her schedule:
7:45 am 6 ozs bottle (sometimes 8 ozs) Pears
9:30 or 10 am Nap till 11:30 am
11:30 am 6 oz bottle Pears
1:30 pm Nap till 3:30 pm BOTH BABIES SLEEP WHICH IS GLORIOUS
3:30 6 oz bottle Most days takes a 45 minutes nap after she has been awake for 1 and half (which Baby Wise recommends)
6:30 6 oz bottle Pears
9 pm 6 oz bottle
10 pm Bed

She eats 5 times a day. I am not nearly as strict about her schedule as I was with Jackson. Mondays and Wednesday she does not get much of a morning nap because we go to the gym. We are working towards just 2 naps by 6 months of age and her taking her night bottle at 8 pm and going to bed by 9 pm. I have discovered on the nights she goes to bed early though she ends up waking up every 2 hours and the nights she goes to bed late, like 10:30 pm. she has no problems. That is a mystery to me.

How to Start Solid Foods with Your Baby

Boy, am I glad I blogged with Jackson. I had totally forgotten how to introduce solid foods with a baby. Every baby is different, but Abigail has been eating 32 ozs of formula daily and still has not seemed satisfied (32 ozs of milk is the max a baby can have and 24 ozs should be the minimum) She is a very hungry girl and was smacking her lips when we ate so Monday I tried oatmeal cereal with her (about 2 weeks before she turns 4 months old). I know it is going to take her a couple of weeks to figure out how to swallow. However, she did real well and opened her mouth wide and I think she might have even swallowed a little bit of it. Here are my suggestions when starting solid foods:
  • If your baby struggles with constipation at all get the oatmeal version of rice cereal. Abigail struggles with it every now and then but nothing like Jackson. So, we choose to do the oatmeal cereal with her as well
  • mix it with 2-4 tablespoons of formula and 1 tablespoon of cereal (that way he does not get choked)
  • Also, offer the cereal during normal feeding time after they have eaten about half of the bottle or a little more than half way through the bottle. I have found if you introduce it before the have gotten at least some of their milk, they will be real upset about it.
  • Before you start fruits or vegetables offer you baby Rice Cereal or Oatmeal Cereal (if they struggle with constipation) for 2 weeks three times a day. Baby Wise recommends this but the doctor says you do not have to do it. It takes a while for them to figure out how to swallow. At first, they will only take half of the fruit or vegetable (make sure you buy 1st food not 2nd or 3rd).
  • Eventually Baby Wise II says:

Breakfast (8am): cereal and fruits----Lunch (12pm) Vegetables and fruits----- Dinner (4pm) cereal, vegetables and fruits-----then one last bottle at 8pm. That would be my perfect schedule in a perfect world----haha!

With Abigail I am going to offer her cereal 1 or 2 times a day at least until she turns 4 months old. You are really suppose to wait to your baby is 4 months old to start food and definitely by 6 months old. If your baby seems satisfied by your milk then there is no rush. However, if your baby struggles with constipation, I would recommend starting right around 4 months old at least just with the cereal. We will probably not start the squash and pears for another month or so, but I will keep you updated.

I do not recommend putting cereal in a baby's bottle because they cannot tell they are full until it is too late. This could cause severe stomach aches (a screaming baby), vomiting, or your baby being overweight. I know different doctors have different opinions about this though.

Let me know if you have any more advice on starting solid foods. I am always learning!

Update on Jackson, 9 months

Last week we went to Spartanburg for a week and for Gigi's birthday. It was wonderful because my dad was off for the week and could really help out with Jackson. I slept in my sister's room and they took care of him all morning long (Charlie came up Wednesday night). It was a wonderful restful week. My parents are such a blessing and boy do they love Jackson. Aunt Sandi came for Gigi's birthday and she is so good with him. She read to him and he listened for so long! I was able to go to Marshall's and the Polo outlet shopping, and got some great deals for me and Jackson since some of our clothes where destroyed in the fire.

Major Praise! He has gotten so strong that I could not lay down on the bed with him, without him trying to get off the bed when it was nap time or bed time. He is so strong now, I cannot hold him down on the bed. So, while we have been here with Charlie’s parents, HE JUST GOES TO SLEEP AFTER WE LAY HIM DOWN! It took a while but we put about 7 passies in his bed and lay him down with his blue bear and he goes to sleep. This had been the hardest aspect of Jackson’s day. Every time we would lay him down he would cry for like 30 minutes and then it would take another 30 minute for him to catch his breath. If God blesses me with another child, I will not lay the baby down with me no matter how much I want the baby to take a nap at a certain time. It is hard but letting Jackson self sooth has been a wonderful blessing for him and everyone. The first day or so he cried a good bit, but I would go in there and make sure he had a passi and lay him back down. By day 3 he was only crying a couple minutes, and now he gives everyone a night night kiss and holds his bear real tight and then goes to sleep, it is a miracle and God gets all the glory.

This is his schedule still 9 months (almost 10 months)

7:30 am wake up

8 am Diaper Change, Eat 6 ozs, usually 3 tablespoons of oatmeal cereal and half a jar of stage 3 gerber pears

8:30 am Watch Mickey Mouse Club house

9:45 am or 10 am Nap till 11:30 ish

11:45 am Diaper Change, Eat 6 ozs, the rest of the pears and stage 3 Squash

12:30-1:45 am play with toys especially this toy where he pushes it while he walks

1:45 or 2 pm Diaper Changes, Eats again (I know) 6 ozs. The rest of Squash and either more cereal or pears

3:15 pm or 3:45 till either 5 pm or 6 pm Nap

5:15 or 6 pm Diaper Change, Eat 6 ozs

6pm-7:30 pm Go aside take a walk, go out to eat for not a long time (teething biscuits or wonderful) He only like to play with tupperware in his high chair

Baths are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays

7:30 or 8 pm Diaper Change, Last bottle usually he eats 8 ozs here

9:15 Bed!

I know he still eats 5 times a day but I cannot get him to just eat 4 times a day if anyone has any suggestions I am all for it. He does take 2 good naps a day which is a huge praise. He will not eat more than 6 ozs when he has all that food. Also, any advice about starting whole milk when Jackson turns 1, I am all ears!

We are going Wednesday for his 9 month check up and shots even though Thursday he will be 10 months. I will let you know what all the doctor says.

Jackson is an Official Crawler and 2 Teeth have Broken Through

Charlie, Jackson, and Pastor Charles

He is has now been offically crawling for 1 full week. He can crawl down a complete hallway without stopping. He is into everything and we are confining him to one room at a time (Baby Wise II gives this advice). The pack in play is great for this. Also, we are plugging up the outlets because they say that with them teething and water on their fingers they can easily get electricuted. Crazy, and Jackson loves all those fun cords that come off the play station. We also just saw tonight 2 of his bottom teeth have barely broken the surface--Yeah! Teething tablets really do help with teething.

Update on “Wild Man” Jackson-April 15th 2007, 7 months old!

Here we are at one of our favorite places in Sumter, "Rascals." They have the best hot dogs and ice cream (and Jackson had a lot of it when I was pregnant). They also have $1 bating cages. It is a real fun place.

Here is the new bubble face:

Got to love that smile!

Determined boy-

He is a little rascal!

Here he is with 2 of the church secretaries having a good old time

Chris, our financial secretary is leaving in May because her husband got transferred to New Mexico. Boy, are we going to miss her!

Here is the latest update on “Wild Man” Jackson:

  1. Jackson is reminding me more and more of my dad in looks and in actions. On Friday, Charlie was going somewhere and Jackson was in his tot rider. He literally ran in his tot rider and tried to get out the door to follow Charlie. Jackson had his passy in his mouth and Charlie pointed out that Jackson looked and was acting just like Grand! He is a very determined little boy!
  2. We had a big scare with Jackson this weekend. Saturday morning I went to get him up and he had the bumper strings double-knotted around his neck! I of course started screaming, and luckily it was not tied tight around his neck and he was not red or anything. He is a wild man, and now we have had to take the bumpers off his crib. Then, he kept banging his head against the crib while moving around in his sleep, so we just let him sleep in the pack-and-play last night and he did fine. Do any wise mothers have any advice on what more we can do? He moves around a lot when he sleeps, and will eventually hit his head hard against the crib!
  3. Some moms have asked about Jackson’s schedule. I do not think you really ever go to 3 feedings a day. I know some of my friend’s children eat 3 big meals and then a juice at 8 pm, but she did not start this until she was 1. They have formula the first full year and then at 1 year old they eat what we eat and I guess then you go to 3 meals. Jackson still gets 4 bottles and 1 mini bottle at 8 pm. He has just now started eating a lot of solids and he is not eating as many oz (about 27 in a day). He still eats 7 oz at 8, 11:30, 2:30, 5:30 or 6, and then a couple ozs at 8 pm. He really likes squash! We are still on type 1 food. I do not think we will start meats until he is 1 year---that is just what BabyWise and most doctors recommend.
  4. We had a really hard time finding 12 month sleepers but we finally found some at the Children’s Place. I had never been there but we went to the one in Columbia and I love the place. They have great light weight sleepers all the way up to 2 years old! I was so excited. We got three 12 months for like $20 total!
  5. Jackson really never stops moving and he bruised my arm the other day by pinching it when he was hugging me. He has been sleeping on his stomach since he was 3 ½ months old. But as I said he is wild and he never stops moving even in his sleep. I think it is fine for them to sleep on their stomachs as long as they can lift their head, and I think it helps with strengthen their muscles.
  6. He is now sitting up by himself for 45 minutes at a time in the Pack-and-Play. He loves to be in that now more than the Exersaucer. I would highly recommend starting to put your baby in the pack in play starting at about 4 months old (BabyWise II strongly recommends doing this). I started doing this and Jackson did not like it too much at first, but now it is his favorite place and he can stay in there for 45 minutes with all his toys. He loves to sit up in it, and see what we are doing. If we put him on the floor right now, he will crawl and cry to get powercords far away within minutes! Some people say you can raise two girls for every one boy, and I am starting to understand what they mean. Do y’all have any other playtime advice? What did your babies enjoy doing at 7 months?

Pictures April 7th 2007

Jackson is doing well, enjoying his squash and apples. Charlie accidentally gave Jackson squash for breakfast! Yum! Ladies, some men may need explicit directions for feeding! Breakfast is cereal and fruit. Lunch is vegetable and fruit. Dinner is cereal, vegetable and fruit. Oh well, I guess Charlie was half asleep. We are going to try carrots next week. The above picture is of Charlie putting Jackson to bed for the night. Yes, I have seen babies that you just put down in the crib and the go to sleep. However, we have let Jackson cry it out a couple times and it goes on for at least 20 minutes and keeps getting worse minute by minute. He is fine for his 2 or 3 naps during the day. I can usually put him down in the crib and he will just cry for like 5 minutes or so and then go to sleep (especially if I put his blanket in there). But when it is time for bed time around 9:15-9:30 it is a battle. So, we found the best thing to do is not let him sleep from 6 pm on, and then he will watch tv with his daddy and just fall asleep within ten minutes. We hope to not have to do this forever, but for now this works the best. He is crawling up on all fours now, but mainly crawling backwards. He loves to talk and even says "hey," and "da-da." He understands the word "no" now and he is starting to test me. I will say "no" and then he will slowly do what I said "no" to, looking at me the entire time. So, we are starting to put him in his crib for a couple minutes when he does something we told him "no" to. If that does not work, I just pop him (not hard) on his hand one time with a cardboard rod. Trust me this works and is biblical. We cannot just take everything that is dangerous away from him when I know he understands me. I usually only use this discipline if it is something that can hurt him or someone else. BabyWise II really gives good advice for disciplining the 5-15 month old.

He did great at the 6 month check up (even though he is going to be 7 months this week). He is 17 07 and in the 50 percentile in everything. The doctor said he was "perfect."

Grand and Gigi came for a quick visit and this picture of Grand and him is in the local Christian bookstore. They will not get to see him for a while! We also went to Columbia on Thursday night and finally found some 12 month pj's with feet at the Childrens Place out in SandHills. We have to have feet because he pulls off his socks at night. Oh yeah, Aunt Sandi gave Jackson the cute hat. Thanks Aunt Sandi!

Jackson's 4 month doctor visit/Advice on Starting Solids

The 4 month check up went well. He was 15 pounds and 11oz and in the 50 percent in weight and over the 50 in height. His head is in the 25 percent though but it is growing---haha. The doctor said that as far as food goes I can wait till he is 6 months or so. The key is that they need to learn to eat by 1 year because baby/real food is their main source of nutrition by 1 year when they go to whole milk. He did run a temp. after the shots. I do not handle it well when he is sick because he is so helpless. Right now naps are the hardest thing for us and he still is getting bored and wants me to play with him all the time. I am not going to try to be real strict with the whole food thing till 6 months (mainly because Katherine always told me 5 months was the easiest when they eat 4 times a day and if you do not start food). Also, some doctors say their stomachs are not ready until 6 months. When I do offer cereal I mix it with 2-4 tablespoons of formula and 1 tablespoon of cereal (that way he does not get choked)

Eventually Baby Wise II says:

Breakfast (8am): cereal and fruits----Lunch (12pm) Vegetables and fruits----- Dinner (4pm) cereal, vegetables and fruits-----then one last bottle at 8pm. That would be my perfect schedule in a perfect world----haha!

Before you start fruits or vegetables offer you baby Rice Cereal or Oatmeal Cereal (if they struggle with constipation) for 2 weeks three times a day. Baby Wise recommends this but the doctor says you do not have to do it. It takes a while for them to figure out how to swallow. At first, they will only take half of the fruit or vegetable (make sure you buy 1st food not 2nd or 3rd).

I do know that for the first year of their existence they need at least 24 oz of formula a day and no more than 32. Jackson usually likes 27 (to get him through the night) but recently he has been eating 32 every day. I think he is going through a growth spurt. Right now we offer 7 ozs to him at 8:15, 11:15, 2:30, and then 6 ozs at 5:15-:5:30 and then again anywhere from 8:15-8:45. So we are still feeding him 5 times a day but I think he would take 8 ozs 4 times a day. I am just lazy and my platex drop in bottle only holds 7 oz. Recently he has been going to bed at 9:30-10:15 and sleeping till 8 or at the latest 8:30. He still will only sleep 10 hours a night (my doctor said that was wonderful) so we put him to bed later so he will sleep later and I can get a shower!

I have tried cereal for breakfast, lunch and dinner but it is so time consuming---it took like 45 minutes! He still wants to spit it out. He has major constipation problems recently so the doctor said to do oatmeal rice cereal and go ahead and try pears and apple sauce. She said that it did not matter if we started vegetables or fruits that they are all gross and have no good taste. She said to try a new food (it just needs to be a first food---it does not matter if it a fruit or veggie) for 3 or 5 days in a row to make sure he does not have any food allergies. We tried pears today and he gave this terrible face like this taste terrible and spit most of it out. I usually try the food after about 4 or 5 ozs of formula so that way he is not starving but not completely full. That has worked best for me but as you know every baby is different.

As far as naps I know at 6 months it is ideal for them to have just two big naps a day from 1 1/2 to 2 hours---one in the morning and one in the afternoon. So little Sophie is doing great! Before that they say 3 naps (at at least 1 1/2 hours) once they hit like 12 weeks I think The one in the afternoon does not need to be too close to bed time, Our naps are hard right now. He will only sleep for 45 min for the morning nap (probably because he sleep so late) and then he has one at 1 that he usually sleeps for 1 1/2 hour and then another nap at 4 ish for another 45 minutes. After he has been up for like 2 hours or so he gets so tired. We are trying to get read of the last mini nap at 7-7:45 but it is hard because he is so fussy. The first nap of the day he will go into the crib and fall asleep but the rest of the naps I swaddle him and put him in the middle of the bed and he goes to sleep fine.

He is a big grabber now and I am glad I read that Baby Wise II book because I am not letting him play with our phones and stuff because I will not let him play with other people's phone when we go to their house. The book said it is fine to let them play with the remote, your phone, etc but not to punish them when they do that at other people's house because they do not understand. He also plays and rolls around in the pack and play every day because that is a safe place for him. Once he does start crawling I am not going to let him have rule of the entire house he will be limited to certain room----I guess I will get some baby gates. They say that that is just too much freedom to let them crawl around the entire house. He is rolling over on his stomach and yesterday he rolled back over to him back to get to something he wanted but that is the only time he has rolled back over.

Approaching 5 Months

Next Monday Jackson will be 5 months old! He was born on September 12, 2006. Hopefully this weekend I will have a post on his recent 4 month doctor visit, introducing solids, etc. I have read Baby Wise II (5-15 months) and it has helped me with introducing solids, and with learning about the new fun challenges we are about to embark on. I will be blogging about what Baby Wise II has to say soon. But for now enjoy this pictures. As you can see we have a lot of fun right now, and from what everyone tells us 5 months is a wonderful easy time with your baby.

Jackson's New Schedule at 11 Weeks

Yeah! Jackson has finally adopted to his new schedule. It took just a couple weeks but now we are only feeding him 5 times a day and I feel like a new woman because I am not constanly feeding him. According to Baby Wise, we are on Phase Two: Extended Night---Weeks 9-15 week. This is his day now:

8-8:30 am Wake Up, Diaper Change and Eat 6 ozs
8:30-10am Wake Time (in his chair and on his matt)
10-11:30 Nap Time (wrapping Jackson very tight in a swaddle---learned it from the dvd Happiest Baby)
11:30 am Diaper Change, Eat 6 ozs
11:30-1 pm Wake Time (go to the church office and see the secretaries)
1pm-3pm Nap Time
3 pm Diaper Change, Eat 6 oz
3-4:30 Wake Time
4:30-6:30 Nap Time
6:30 Diaper Change, Eat 6 ozs
Wake Time 6:30 on no more naps unless he is fussy
Bath time 7:30pm
9:00 Diaper Change, Eat 6 ozs
10:15 Bed Time

He eats at 8 am, 11:30am, 3:00pm, 6:30pm, 9pm roughly. If he cries before his feeding I try others things like giving him his passy but if that does not work I feed him as long as it has been 2 1/2 hours from the start of his last feeding.

Basically he gets 3 big naps at 1 hour and 30 min minimum. If your baby does not sleep for at least 1 hour and 30 min times he will be fussy (swaddling him tight is crucial!) He can get 32 ozs of milk a day but usually only takes 27 ozs during the day. The doctor said for the first year they need 24 ozs of formula minimum and no more than 32 ozs in one day. Since Jackson is now 12 pounds he can take half of his body weight each feeding (6 ozs).

We should hopefully be on this schedule till he is 5-6 months old.

If your baby will not stop screaming/crying try this---it works!!!! I recommend buying the dvd to teach you how to swaddle correctly. You can also buy the SwaddleMe blanket by kiddopotamus for babies up to 22 pounds.

"Dr. Karp believes that babies, especially in their first few months of life, can experience "fourth trimester" issues. Babies can have a difficult time getting used to the huge amount of stimuli present in life outside of Mom's body. Their reaction to all of this is to cry and cry.

The Happiest Baby On The Block method formulated by Dr. Harvey Karp, addresses these issues by helping you learn how to effectively recreate the environment of the womb, outside of Mom's body. Once you have learned the steps, you will be able to alleviate some, if not all, of your baby's colic symptoms."

The 5 S's

There are 5 components to this method which, when used together, work amazingly well to calm your crying baby and in many cases help your baby go to sleep with no fuss.

Using cross-cultural techniques combined with his own research, Dr. Karp has developed the "five S's system". Some babies will need all five, others just a few to help induce what he calls the "calming reflex."

  • Swaddling - Tight swaddling provides the continuous touching and support the fetus experienced while still in Mom's womb.
  • Side/stomach position - You place your baby, while holding her, either on her left side to assist in digestion, or on her stomach to provide reassuring support. Once your baby is happily asleep, you can safely put her in her crib, on her back.
  • Shushing Sounds - These sounds imitate the continual whooshing sound made by the blood flowing through arteries near the womb. This white noise can be in the form of a vacuum cleaner, a hair dryer, a fan and so on. The good news is that you can easily save the motors on your household appliances and get a white noise CD which can be played over and over again with no worries.
  • Swinging - Newborns are used to the swinging motions that were present when they were still in Mom's womb. Every step mom took, every movement caused a swinging motion for your baby. After your baby is born, this calming motion, which was so comforting and familiar, is abrubtly taken away. Your baby misses the motion and has a difficult time getting used to it not being there. "It's disorienting and unnatural," says Karp. Rocking, car rides, and other swinging movements all can help.
  • Sucking - "Sucking has its effects deep within the nervous system," notes Karp, "and triggers the calming reflex and releases natural chemicals within the brain." This "S" can be accomplished with breast, bottle, pacifier or even a finger.

Update on Jackson: 9 weeks old

This picture is of him doing his new favorite thing---sticking out his tongue and laughing. Too cute!

Well, according to Baby Wise [we do not agree with everything in this book], we are done with "Phase One" (Weeks 1-8) where Jackson eats seven to eight daily feedings for the first two months. Jackson is successfully sleeping through the night and as long as we swaddle him tight he goes to sleep when we put him down...what a wonderful baby! I really think he is doing this because we feed him every 3 hours during the day and he gets all his ozs in during the day (about 27oz). We never feed him earlier than 2 1/2 hours from the start of the last feeding. If you feed him every two hours they are snacking all day long and never getting full, therefore, they are extremely fussy.

Now we are in "Phase Two" (Weeks 9-15) where we try for him to eat about every 3 1/2 to four hours and bump up his ozs to 6 ozs. We have tried this but he wants to eat every 3 hours and will not take 6 ozs. Now we are trying to get 3 naps in (min 1 1/2 hours in length to 3 hours) but he does not want to take a nap longer than 45 minutes. However, if we put him down for a nap after he is swaddled extremely tight he will sleep longer At six months, apparently babies take 2 naps at 2 hours long each one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Right now this is Jackson day
Diaper change Eat at 7-7:30, Awake till 8:30
Nap till 10ish
Diaper change, Eat 10, Awake 11:30
Nap 11:30-1ish
Diaper change Eat 1 pm Awake till 2:30
Nap 2:30-4 pm
Diaper change, Eat 4 pm Awake till 5:30 pm
Nap 5:30 till 7:00pm
Diaper change, Eat 7 pm Awake till 8:30 pm
Nap 8:30 pm till 10ish
Diaper change (bath every other night) Eat 10 pm
Sleeping through the night from 11pm till 7 am

Wow that is exhausting! Haha...and you wonder why new moms are tired. He definitely does not follow that schedule perfectly and some days he only has 3 naps and for only 45 minutes.

Ps Go to 1800diapers.com and they have the cheapest diapers and wipes and free shipping!!!!!

We also watch this dvd that helped us learn how to calm Jackson down when he is crying real hard. It really helped and if you want to know more about it just let me know...

Baby's Schedule

At first Jackson did not know where he was so him being on a schedule did not matter. I just tried to keep him awake for 4 hours of the day and made sure he ate around every 3 hours (not any sooner than 2 1/2 hours unless it was an emergency). He was a great baby and would sleep from like 11-2 and then go back to sleep till 6 am. Now I want him to have some sort of scheduled wake time and nap time but it is hard because his stomach hurts him and that determines when he is awake or when he is asleep.

I do recomend new mom to read Baby Wise but be cautious about how strict it is. If your baby is crying uncontrolably pick him up!

Right now his day is like this:

5-7 am morning feeding time
10 am midmorning feeding (try to have wake time from 10am-11:30ish and then lay him down for a nap)
1 pm lunch time (wake time, nap time)
4 pm another feeding (same)
7 pm dinner (same)
9:45 pm bath time
10 pm last feeding put him straight to bed (with a night light on) in his crib with music playing so he knows it is bed time.

*all these times are not exact
* every feeding have a diaper change (I usually do it before the feeding because it really wakes up Boo Boo. If you do it after the feeding he will probably go to the bathroom on you)
*Also if he is gasy I give him generic mylicon drops before each feeding

He needs to get 24 ozs no more than 32 ozs. This schedule has worked and he does sleep anywhere from 11-5 or 7am. Jackson gets 5 ozs every feeding (a couple weeks ago he was only getting 4 ozs). If he gets less thana 28 ozs he will wake up at 2am hungry so it is important to get those ozs in during the day. Some of my friends put some cereral in the milk for the last feeding but that may cause constipation which he does not need anymore of.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a 6 week old baby schedule? Should he just have two big naps during the day?
