Back to Running / Advice Given-Advice Needed

Wow, I am SLOW!

Today I ran 3.1 miles on the treadmill at 41 minutes. In a race, I did it in 37 minutes, and when I was preggers with Annabeth I ran it in 41 minutes in a race.

Here are tips:

  1. Just warm up for 1 minutes on the treadmill or just start off running. In a race, this is how it will be.
  2. Do not walk longer than 2 minutes, and run at least 2 minutes at a time.
  3. For the first mile, I try to run for 5 to 7 minutes straight, walk 1 or 2 minutes and then finish till I get to a mile. When running the race, have timer going somehow.
What advice to you have for making your time faster? Hoping to run a race at the end of the month.

Annabeth's 4 Month Stats

Weight: 17 pounds, 4 ozs, 95%
Height: 25 inches, 90%

Dear sweet Annabeth (Joycie, Big Baby Buddha),

You are our first 90 percentile baby! At four months, you looked like a 6 month old. You are now 5 months old and wearing 9 month old clothing which works out perfectly for mommy because you and your sister were 3 months difference in size and she was always in the 50 something percentile. You will not take a pacifier unfortunately like your brother and sister. You get very mad because it is not the bottle. I secretly like having a non paci baby because I get to see all your facial expressions all throughout the day. Sadly, you have been congested the majority of your life. Probably because your brother or sister is always in your face, loving you. HOWEVER, we are so so thankful that none of these episodes have turned into ear infections, which is a miracle. Your crib is in mommy and daddy's room against the other part of the room, it is so much easier for us. You have been sleeping till 7 am, which makes mommy and daddy so happy. Oh yeah and you were crawling a little at 4 MONTHS! Wow, you go girl. You are very active and have been trying to hold your head up on your own since you were born. You can sit up by yourself when you lean forward now at 5 months. We love you so much, but you have grown up so fast on us. You are so long it is hard to cuddle close with you and you definitely make mama sweat a lot carrying you around...haha. You have made our lives lots busier but not overwhelming like going from one babies to two.
When you smile you have two dimples which is amazing (unlike your siblings at this age), and your hair has always had a blonde root which is so cute. You are so funny, and have the best laugh. I love babies, and you have made our life so much more joyful. You are so worth it.
I love you with Christ's love that cannot be measured.

Love,
Mommy

Letter to Jackson

Mama is not having an easy time the night before your first day of kindergarten. I wanted to write you a quick letter:

Dear Jackson,

I am so proud of you. We have been through a lot together. A fire before you were even a year old, not being able to speak because you were tongue-tied 'till you were three, and more recently 10 episodes of strep with terrible blisters and your tonsils coming out (and having to go to the hospital for dehydration after getting your tonsils out). You have always been a mama's boy, and have cried many times when I have dropped you off (unlike your sister).
Tonight as I list your strengths to your teacher it brings tears to my eyes. The three strengths I listed were that you were a great problem solver, great story teller and sociable, and great on the ipad playing games (especially x-box games). My sweet buddy who could not talk until he was three is one of the best story tellers I have ever heard. I know you will reach many people for Jesus, as you already have. You can tell anyone who will listen all about Adam and Eve, Moses, Joshua, and especially about Jesus.  We are very excited about you being right across the street from David Baptist and looking forward to meeting lots of people to invite to David. It seems like the entire church already goes there and you know so many people. Your kindergarten teacher was one of the first people we met when we moved here, and you played soccer with her daughter. She goes to First Baptist, and from what I can tell loves Jesus and her family very much. You dressed up like Woody the year her daughter dressed up as Jessie and I actually have a picture of y'all from that Halloween.

Tonight we had soccer practice. You are so good at soccer! You really have some moves. I guess the hardest thing for mommy tonight is that I just really enjoy being with you. You are so enjoyable and  a sweet boy. You hardly ask me for anything. Mommy is going to miss you so much for seven hours of the day, but excited to see you learn to read and write better and excited for you to make more friends. God has such great and mighty plans for you.

Love,
Mommy

Abigail's First Day of 3K

I am so proud of our Puddygail. She LOVES school so much that she did not come in our bed last night after getting her tonsils out just so she could go. She has never cried when I have dropped her off. I think she would make a great teacher someday. All her best girlfriends were there and I was so happy for her. Now, Jackson starts kindergarten Wednesday. 8 am to 2:50 pm WOW. What is so awesome is the school is right across the street from the church and he knows so many kids. Be praying for buddy this week!

It has been a hard summer with both Jackson and Abigail getting their tonsils out. Now that they are in school, look for me to blog more!

Annabeth's 2 Month Stats

Weight: 12 pounds, 12 ozs 84%
Height: 23.5 inches 80%

We are so thankful to have a healthy, happy bottle fed baby. She has been sleeping and not eating in the middle of the night since 5 weeks old. She laughs and is so smart. The doctor says if she keeps this up she could be 5 7 when she grows up. Definitely our biggest baby! Her only issue is spitting up and sometime projectile spits up.

Here is Abigail's 2 month stats...she was 11 pounds http://emilyewallace.blogspot.com/2009/02/abigails-2-month-stats.html

Jackson Graduates Preschool- Pray for Him Monday!

Us at his Preschool Graduation. I did well on not crying until saw his Shining Star award presented to him for the Chapel Time Award, and saw him taking pictures with his best bud Xander for the last time at Resurrection. God has been so good to us, and I
am so proud of our buddy.

Monday at 1:15 Jackson will be getting his tonsils out. Pray

1) He does ok with not eating anything after midnight and not drinking from 9 am on.

2) He does great through the surgery and has little or no pain.

3) That his blisters in his mouth go away quickly. Both him and Abigail got diagnosed again with strep. Pretty sure Abigail will be getting her tonsils out in the next year as well since hers
are very large and we are pretty sure she has sleep apnea.

4) That he has no complications or blessing

5) That baby girl does a great with my parents.

We have to be there at 11:15 and the surgery will be 30 minutes but then we have to wait up to 3 hours to make sure he has no blessing.

Thank you so much for praying! Love y'all!

Annabeth's Hymn- Jesus Paid it All

God gave me this hymn for her one night when she was congested and having a hard time. She has been congested in her nose more than a week. Not a lot of mucus, just enough to be annoying. We would love prayers for this mucus to go away. She is such a sweet girl!

I hear the Savior say,
“Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all.”

Refrain

Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.

For nothing good have I
Whereby Thy grace to claim,
I’ll wash my garments white
In the blood of Calv’ry’s Lamb.

Refrain

And now complete in Him
My robe His righteousness,
Close sheltered ’neath His side,
I am divinely blest.

Refrain

Lord, now indeed I find
Thy power and Thine alone,
Can change the leper’s spots
And melt the heart of stone.

Refrain

When from my dying bed
My ransomed soul shall rise,
“Jesus died my soul to save,”
Shall rend the vaulted skies.

Refrain

And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
I’ll lay my trophies down
All down at Jesus’ feet.

Annabeth Joyce Wallace is Here!

Born: April 16th, 3:09 am
Weighing: 7 pounds 9 ozs, 21 inches

On my due date, Sunday April 15th, I woke up thinking that I was close to going into labor and ran around the house jumping up and down for joy...Annabeth was going to figure this out on her own (all my other babies I had to be induced with). I was going to be patient for her! I had some contractions but then at lunch time everything stopped. I had my Zaxby's salad for lunch took a nap, and then at 4 pm things started back up again.

I had contractions every 10 minutes and the pain was starting to bring me to my knees. So at 10 pm we checked into the hospital. They confirmed I was 4 cm, but wanted my contractions to be more like 5 to 7 min apart. Then, they made me walk around the facility for an hour (which I agreed to do), and in that hour I went from 4 cm to 6 cm. WOW!

Charlie commented that I said some interesting things during that hour such as "I am not having this baby naturally!"...haha! SO by the time I got my epidural I was either 7 cm or 8 cm. My water broke on its own at 9 cm, and it all went so fast. My parents got their around 12 am and I had ABJ three hours later. My poor mama had to deal with 8 cm Emily trying to hold still for an epidural. I am so thankful for her and it is so wonderful that she has been there to see all three of my babies born. I pushed for 6 minutes (3 pushes) and she was out . . . even though she wanted to come out face first but somehow ended up coming out right thanks to my amazing doctor. It was so neat that my doctor graduated from the University of Georgia in '74 and my mama graduated in '72. I had only been going to see Dr. Peach towards the end because I liked him so much. I knew he was on call on my due date but I thought he would be off at 12 am, but he was not off till 8 am. God gets all the glory for working those details out!

Annabeth Joyce is our biggest baby! Jackson and Abigail were 6 lbs 14 and 6 lbs 11. Today I feel great, and do not feel like I just had a baby (again because of my fantastic doctor), and I am off Motrin because I feel so good.

Every day for the past week, me and the kids prayed that ABJ would come on her own. We prayed out loud for the delivery every day. Her entire wonderful delivery was because of Jesus and the power of prayer. People on Facebook were praying, church members were praying. God taught me so much of the importance of prayer the week before she was born. Everyday I am making a point to pray out loud with either my husband, kids, or friends. Charlie prayed with me at 9 cm when I started crying. He did so great during the speedy delivery and I am so thankful for what a wonderful daddy he is. He is a better swaddler than I am, and is just so great feeding her and taking care of her. I know it is hard for some men to love their babies immediately and take care of them, but he does and I am so thankful he loves them so deeply.

What a great and mighty God we serve and we are so thankful to him for this precious gift.
