Jackson Whitehead

This is Virginia's old boyfriend's nephew. He is near and dear to our hearts because we babysat him in college and I have pictures that I will hopefully get to scan today. He brought such joy to everyone and I know we will be with him again in our eternal home. I could not move for the rest of the day after hearing of his death. He died in a car wreck. He actually drowned in the car. We know that God is the giver of life and he decides when to take us to our eternal home. This reminds me that my Jackson is ultimately God's child and I need to give him to God every day.

Jackson H. "Jack" Whitehead - Easley, SC

Sunshine and yellow, Jack was a happy little fellow. Born Jackson Henry Whitehead on July 8, 2000, he came into the world as a difference maker. He was so fun to be around bringing laughter and joy to all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Jack never met a stranger. He always saw the glass full to overflowing. He adored his little sister. He admired his Dad as his hero. And he loved his mother with abandon. He was a sheer delight to all.

Above all, Jack knew Jesus and loved Him completely. So on January 7, 2007, when given the invitation to go home to Heaven, he didn't look back.

He will be greatly missed by his Mommy and Daddy, Jason and Danielle Whitehead and his little sister, Ellie, maternal grandparents Kim and Kathie Cannon, paternal grandparents Byron and Delores Whitehead; uncles, Nate Cannon, Jon Whitehead and Hall Beard, aunts; Koehler Cannon and Jaclyn Whitehead and Fairy Godmother Heidi Ruehl; maternal great-grandparents Max and Pat Cannon, paternal great-grandfather Broadus Able. Jack was predeceased by maternal great-grandparents Homer and Irene Sidwell, paternal great-grandparents James and Nell Whitehead, and paternal great-grandmother Mary Able. We are glad to know our little obedient one is Home with Jesus.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Easley First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.

Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the fellowship hall of the church, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jack Whitehead Memorial, Knightsville Elemetary School, Attn: Laura Blanchard, 847 Orangeburg Road, Summerville, SC 29483.
