Update on Andrew-March 15, 2007

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 14, 2007 08:38 PM, EDT
I spent the day with Andrew and he's doing really well. His pain levels from the ear surgery were high this morning. But, throughout the day he began feeling a whole lot better. Today was a beautiful day, so we spent some time outside. He took it really easy today and didn't go to therapy. I think overall it was a really enjoyable day. Thank you so much for your prayers!

Andrew's ear surgery went fairly well today. It ended up being a more tedious procedure than expected, because of previous scarring he had in his ear from the blast. He was the first surgery on schedule and he did not get out of surgery until 3. They actually had to retrieve a piece of fascia from his skull behind his ear to use to construct a new tympanic membrane. The recovery today ended up being more difficult than we were anticipating. He is in a lot of pain and is obviously very exhausted from such a long day. Please pray that this procedure will prove successful and that he will recover quickly. Thank you!
